Medicare Advantage (Part C)
If you like the idea of getting all your Medicare benefits through one plan—with extras—Medicare Advantage might be for you.
I’m Jake McGeoy, your local Medicare agent, and I help people across Maryland, Pennsylvania, and Virginia find Medicare Advantage plans that fit their lifestyle, budget, and health needs.
What Is Medicare Advantage?
Medicare Advantage (Part C) plans are offered by private insurance companies approved by Medicare.
They provide all the benefits of Original Medicare (Parts A & B)—and most include Part D prescription drug coverage—all in one plan.
Many plans also include extras like:
Dental, vision, and hearing benefits
Over-the-counter allowances
Fitness programs like SilverSneakers®
Transportation to medical appointments
Wellness and telehealth visits
Types of Medicare Advantage Plans
HMO (Health Maintenance Organization) – Lower costs but requires using in-network providers (except emergencies).
PPO (Preferred Provider Organization) – More flexibility to see out-of-network doctors (often at a higher cost).
PFFS (Private Fee-for-Service) – You can see any Medicare-approved doctor who accepts the plan’s payment terms.
SNP (Special Needs Plans) – Tailored for people with specific conditions or financial needs.
